On Sunday, 11 September 2016, JNF WA held it’s Annual Event at the Vasto Club.

As keynote speaker Lt. Gen Shaul Mofaz aptly stated during this year’s JNF events, “When it comes to Israel, we’re all in it together. Whether we live in Israel or the Diaspora, we can all do our part to support the Jewish State”. His call to action was certainly answered loudly by the Perth Jewish community, with record numbers in attendance in support of JNF projects in Israel. Testimony that we are all in this together.

Special guest, Chaim Topol provided an overview of the Jordan River Village, which offers optimism and strength to chronically ill children and their families. Funds from the JNF Annual Campaign will help create a new multi-sensory science garden at the Village. This new space will not only give sick children a unique and interactive learning experience, but will use the power of nature and the outdoors to help build their hope and resilience.

JNF WA supporters were also briefed by Allison Speiser from Merchav Am, a fledgling community in the Negev which has been supported by JNF WA for the last few years, creating green spaces and landscaping in this desert community.

The audience was treated to the music group, “Sounds of Israel” and the talented Carmel High School Band paid tribute to Chaim Topel with a medley of songs from “Fiddler on the Roof”. Thanks to the Perth community from youth groups and sponsors to prize donors and all our guests for making this year’s event such a success! It’s not to late to donate.
