Joshua Adelman has requested that donations be made to Naveh, in lieu gifts, to link his Bar Mitzvah to the memory of his late grandfather, Kurt Rathner, a former Federal Director of JNF. Joshua and his family have chosen to honour Kurt’s memory by helping bring water for agriculture to the deserving community of Naveh in the Negev.
Naveh is a remote community located in the western Negev Halutzah Region and is precariously positioned on the border with Egypt and Gaza.
Just a few years ago, Naveh was nothing more than sand dunes. Today it is home to more than 110 families – including over 600 children.
Naveh is heavily reliant on agriculture for survival and as a vital source of income for many families. However, like other remote communities in the south, Naveh has limited access to sources of water for irrigation. Bringing water to Naveh will provide a significant benefit – helping the community to grow and to thrive.
